WET LUAU!!!

Tonight we went to a Luau at a hotel resort. It was lots of fun but started raining short after we got there...and rained the hardest and longest that it has since we have been here in Hawaii! It was really quite the downpour!! So, the staff handed out ponchos to anyone who wanted one and continued on with the meal and drinks but eventually canceled the show. It was actually quite fun! We all got saoking wet and lived a memory that we will never forget!
Here we are eating our meal in a small dry tunnel that Dad and I found once we realized that finding shelter under a large tree was not working in our favor!! So we found this spot to eat because our food plates were filling up with water quite fast and turning our meals into a not so appetizing Hawaiian soup! If you look at the picture above there are two people in the back of all of the family who also found shelter in this small tunnel that we were all cuddled up in...ironically we came to find out that they are from Silver Springs near Fernley!! We all thought that was pretty funny! It just goes to show once again that it seems like no matter where you go, you are likely to run into someone from either Fallon or Fernley!

Here's Dad just being himself and trying to put on a show for all of the dissappointed Luau guests! I'm sure that anyone watching was probably thinking that he had had too many drinks!
Does that surprise anyone reading this blog who knows my father?

Here we are again in our lovely ponchos! We came out of our tunnel and went back to our table because the rain had let up quite a bit....but that didn't last for long! Downpour!

This may look like your average "Luau Nightmare in Hawaii"...but it was actually pretty fun! Although we didn't get to see the show where the men dance with fire and show off their greased up bodies and muscley calfs...we still got to eat some good food and enjoy the sunset with the company of lots of rain of course!!!
Thank goodness for the tunnel!! We loved the tunnel!! Thank you tunnel!!
