Goodnight all!!!

Just minutes after the swim. I was still fighting the cramp in my left leg. In this video, you can see me stretching it as I coast down the hill. Terribly painful....and discouraging.
This is the last hill in town before a hard left turn onto the Queen K Highway. Miles and miles of asphalt stretching through seemingly endless lava fields. The cramp in my leg wasn't feeling any better, so I was forced to get out of the saddle on the downhill segments to stretch it out. Needless to say, the thought of riding 112 miles into a strong headwind and scorching heat totally exposed to the suns rays with an agonizing leg cramp was very scary. I considered pulling out several times in the first 2 hours, but I had too many reasons to keep going.
Running down Alii Dr. to the finish. This is the pinnacle of achievement in the endurance world. Most triathletes can only dream of the day they are running down Alii Dr. to the finish of the Ironman World Championships! For me, it was finally a reality. After 6 long years of hard work and dedication, I was there! Unbelievable! I'm so glad my whole family was there to share it with me. Simon had no idea what was going on.

Geoff I'm so glad that you sent us this blog site. It is so inspiring! We loved seeing you finish the race, and I'm sure that Simon will have this story to tell his entire life, that he too, was part of the Ironman race with his Uncle Geoff! You have an amazing, wonderful family and we are proud of you and touched by your dedication, strength and perseverence. You are a wonderful example in many ways, and you've actually achieved the impossible: I now feel like going for a walk now...or maybe a run. Who knows where I'll end up...Way to go, Geoff!
love, Tim & Jill D.
